median-median comparative studies

Some authors suggested to compare, in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), hand muscles innervated by the median nerve such as the abductor pollicis brevis (APB) and first lumbrical (1L) or second lumbrical (2L) muscles. In CTS patients a marked delay in distal latency from the APB muscle can be observed with relative lumbrical sparing and, in general, the more severe the CTS, the greater is the relative degree of lumbrical sparing.
