flexor carpi radialis (FCR) studies

The flexor carpi radialis (FCR) muscle is the elective target in the H reflex study of the upper arm in demonstrating a proximal lesion of the median nerve in the plexus region (lateral and medial cords, C6-C7-C8 roots). Some electroneuromyographic techniques allow to evaluate median motor conduction in the proximal segment (forearm) recording from the FCR muscle, and compound muscle action potentials (CMAPs) can be recorded using both coaxial needle electrodes or surface electrodes.
